Solar

Discover the latest developments in solar energy technology and the integration of solar power: advanced solutions for harnessing and optimizing solar energy for residential, commercial, and industrial applications. Solar energy plays a dynamic role in sustainability and reducing CO2 emissions, making it a key factor in the transition to renewable energy.

Starting in 2027, all new buildings must be constructed with the ability to generate solar energy. This requirement also applies to the renovation of existing buildings. Buildings must be designed to be “solar-ready,” enabling the installation of solar panels without costly structural modifications. The timeline for this standard depends on the purpose and size of the building.

The products include solar energy solutions and applications such as solar panels, inverters, and mounting systems.

Smart Storage

At Solar Solution Amsterdam, the focus extends beyond simply converting solar power into electricity. What happens after? Discover advanced energy storage systems that use high-end technology to manage, store and distribute the generated energy.

In 2023, 24,400 new battery systems were put into operation, with a total storage capacity of 410 megawatt-hours, according to the National Smart Storage Trend Report 24/25 by Dutch New Energy Research. This represents a significant doubling of the total number of battery systems in the Netherlands compared to the previous year. Based on the first two quarters, Dutch New Energy Research anticipates that sales will continue to grow, reaching an additional 942 megawatt-hours of storage capacity in 2024—another doubling compared to 2023.

At Solar Solutions Amsterdam, the focus extends beyond simply converting solar energy into electricity. A wide range of advanced storage solutions is showcased, highlighting the role of high-quality EMS (Energy Management Systems) and storage systems.

EV Charging

The Dutch market for electric vehicles and charging infrastructure is well-developed. The opportunities to charge EV batteries at private homes, business premises, and public charging stations continue to grow.

By the end of June 2023, there were approximately 138,500 public and semi-public charging points available in the Netherlands, a significant increase compared to previous years. The Netherlands is a leader in Europe, with nearly 30% of all charging points in the EU. It is expected that by 2030, there will be around 1.9 million electric vehicles in the Netherlands. According to the government, a nationwide charging network for all these cars will require at least 1.7 million charging stations.

At Solar Solutions Amsterdam, visitors can explore a wide range of solutions that enable EV users to harness solar energy for both household use and vehicle charging.

Green HVAC

Factors such as rising gas prices, climate change, and health concerns are driving the demand for more efficient and sustainable HVAC systems. While there is no active national policy pushing for the adoption of heat pumps, Europe is significantly investing in this technology, and air conditioners are increasingly being used as a heating source.

The sale of air conditioners is expected to rise to 350,000 units in 2024, adding nearly 2 gigawatts of thermal capacity. A recent TNO study reveals that over 40% of households will have at least one air conditioner by 2030. As a result, the total number of air conditioners in 2030 will reach around 6.3 million, consuming an estimated 4 petajoules of electricity. The rapidly growing sales of air conditioners is a trend that will attract more attention in the coming years.
